Halo 5: Guardians Launch Trailer

How far will you go to find the truth? How far will one person go to stop the most decorated soldier in the UNSC? All these questions will be answered in two weeks as Halo 5: Guardians hits the shelves for the XBOX One.

Halo 5

The studio that is creating the hit title, 343 Industries, released the launch trailer of what to expect for the single or cooperative player campaign.

The campaign will feature two storylines, one which will follow Master Chief John 117 and Blue Team as they take on a personal mission while the other will follow Spartan Agent Locke and Fireteam Osiris as they hunt down Master Chief.

Halo 5: Guardians is released on the XBOX One on October 27th, 2015.

GTA Online Freeroam Events Coming September 15th

Rockstar Games has been steadily adding update after update to Grand Theft Auto Online, and now they’re giving you more to do.

Rockstar is introducing Freeroam Events to GTA Online. Without the need of loading, menus, or lobbies, events will start up randomly while freeroaming in GTAO’s overworld. Events have immense variety. They can be simple, such as who can perform the longest jump. Or they can be very elaborate like Hunt The Beast, where a random player becomes super strong, only for the other players to be tasked in taking him down without the use of the radar.

With this update, Rockstar will also be bringing in two new Adversary Modes. Hunting Pack pays homage to the classic action movie Speed, where your team must deliver a high priority vehicle without dropping to a minimal speed limit, while other players attempt to take you down in the process. Then there’s Cross The Line, where heavily-armed teams fight on a neutral ground, while your entire team must make it alive to your opponents’ area intact.

With this update, Rockstar is finally bringing the Rockstar Video Editor to PS4 and Xbox One, with new additions like ambient sound, Snapmatic integration, and more. Keep in mind that these new updates will be passed along to the PC version as well.

Freeroam Events will be available for free for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 15th.

Freemode Events Update

Grand Theft Auto V is now available for PC, Playstation 4, XBOX One, Playstation 3, and XBOX 360.

Take a Trip Down Memory Lane in Metal Gear Solid’s Final Trailer Before its Release

age_bg_tpp

Hideo Kojima is getting everyone ready for the impending release of the next (and most likely the final) installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise The Phantom Pain by debuting the final trailer for the upcoming game.

As mentioned in the heading the trailer gives us moments from the earlier entries and seeing the flashback probably brings a lot of emotion to what is already considered the final farewell in the beloved series. But without spoiling anymore, check it out below.

Now it’s no secret that Konami has had a lot of stuff going on this past year with Kojima leaving the company and having to cancel Silent Hills. The new trajectory of the future for Konami with their focus being aimed more towards mobile gaming is hitting some the wrong way, but the company hopes to gain a little of that good-will back with The Phantom Pain. By most early accounts this is one of, if not, the best entry into the franchise. As one of the greatest and most recognizable video games franchises over the course of almost two decades coupled with its commitment to consistent quality, this finale seems extremely fitting to everyone who are fans of the title. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 1, 2015.

Xbox One Will See Backwards Compatibility

xbox_one_3

This afternoon during Microsoft’s presentation at E3, Xbox Head Phil Spencer said something to the delight of many in the crowd and many more watching at home. Xbox One will finally see backwards compatibility.

Microsoft will have at least 100 titles available by this holiday and more on the way. Retail disks will also work with the Xbox One. To drive home the news, the announcement featured Mass Effect running on the Xbox One.

Digital downloads will start showing up automatically in your game library, however you will need to download the game when using your Xbox 360 disks. Developers and publishers still have to approve what titles work with backwards compatibility.

Xbox One backward compatibility is available now for preview members and will be available for everyone this holiday.

Microsoft Preparing for Major Gears of War Reveal at E3

CHVLREHUwAAnFDm

This was the picture seen on the official Gears of War twitter page with the caption “Three. More. Days. “. I think that’s enough of a teaser to say that Microsoft and developers The Coalition (formerly Black Tusk Studios) will be revealing something special at E3. What that is… we don’t know.

It is well known by now that the studio is working on the next installment in the Gears of War franchise. Not only that, but there are the never-ending talks about a potential remastering of the original series for the Xbox One as well. Whether we get something as small as a teaser, or something as significant as actual gameplay (for one or both of the projects), all we can do is wait and see. Either way, Microsoft is looking to steal the show early at E3 when they open their press conference on Monday, June 15 – 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET.

Xbox One Gets Star Wars: Battlefront First

star-wars-battlefront

Apparently Aaron Greenberg (who leads Microsoft’s games marketing division) is not shy about giving news to loyal fans because he revealed to a fan that the first person shooter would come out on Xbox One via the EA Access pass before coming to Playstation 4 and PC.

This isn’t a surprise as the agreement between Microsoft and EA for EA Access allows them to release its most popular titles early to subscribers. The deal was offered to Sony as well, but they declined the offer (I wonder why).

The rewards of the membership are very intriguing. FIFA 15 for example, was available to subscribers to try a week in advance for several hours. While that doesn’t seem like a long time, players were able to keep any saved data and transport it over to the official title should they choose to actually purchase it. They could possibly do the same for Battlefront. Those who pay the 5 dollar monthly subscription also gain access to a collection of free games like Battlefield 4 and Need for Speed Rivals and have unlimited access to these titles for however long they decide to keep their membership.

Despite LucasArts Entertainment being acquired by Disney back in 2012, work for the game began in 2013 to the delight of many fans who thought the game would never see the light of day. Regarding the release date, there is nothing of note. It isn’t a lot, but the first trailer is only three days away and when it drops you’ll be able to see it here.

Trailer and Details for Dragon Age’s New DLC

wp_ss_20150324_0002[1]Bioware has been courteous enough to give players a little bit of insight on what to expect when they delve into the latest DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition entitled, Jaws of Hakkon.

In addition to the usual stuff (you know, killing your enemies and collecting new armory), you’ll (in the words of Bioware) “unearth an ancient secret that could destroy the world.”

Creative Director Mike Laidlaw said “We are humbled by the game’s reception so far but are not done with the world of Thedas just yet.” He also reiterates his expectations for the DLC, saying “We hope the new DLC speaks to our dedication of growing Inquisition with meaningful and exciting new content for our fans, new and old.”

Now that that’s over, check out the trailer down below and don’t forget to download the Jaws of Hakkon DLC as it is available right now for Xbox One and PC.

Uh, Splinter Cell: Siege. Party of One Please?

images (6)Ubisoft has gotten people’s attention again as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Siege is ready for beta testing.

Like the closed alpha that was exclusively for the PC, this beta will be a closed one as well, but this time Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners will be able to get their hands on it as well. Pre-order Siege for a sure spot in the closed beta or sign up at Ubisoft’s website to be placed on the waiting list. You will need a Uplay account to sign up though.

The wait for the closed beta will not be long, especially since Siege is still scheduled to drop this year.
