Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection Announced

Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced news that the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed series would not be releasing this year. Although, even with the news that doesn’t stop the studio from releasing a title related to the series.

The studio announced the release of Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. The entire collection contains three games that were feature on the last generation consoles, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Addition in having all three games in glorious HD comes with a bonus, such as a free movie ticket to watch the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie when it releases in December.

Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection hits shelves on November 15, 2016 for the Playstation 4 and XBOX One.

Ubisoft: Recap

e3-2027

While it remains to be seen which games shine and which don’t it does seem that Ubisoft put together the most unique and eclectic lineup of games, targeting a lot of different groups of gamers. Lets take a look at what they had to offer this year.

Ghost Recon Wildlands

The Ghosts are back at E3 with Ghost Recon Wildlands. The Santa Blanca Cartel are running the wildlands so the job is clear for the Ghosts. This spec ops quartet has their hands full this time around. But that just makes it more fun. And we finally have a date (sorta) for it so now you can expect to pick up Ghost Recon Wildlands in March 2017.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

The Stick of Truth was a smashing success so it was only fair that Trey Parker and Matt Stone get in on the superhero side of the fantasy genre in their new project South Park: The Fractured But Whole. December 6 is the date and in case you haven’t had a chance to experience The Stick of Truth before, you can do so when you pre-order The Fractured But Whole.

Eagle Flight

Seemed like Ubisoft took great pleasure in showing off Eagle Flight as their first VR game. Flying through the air as a pack of eagles at impressive speeds looks daunting. But judging from the gameplay trailer, it should be a real treat to simulate flight in such a fashion. Or give you a headache.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is another one of those projects that Ubisoft rolled out that seems pretty interesting from the jump. And not just because of the Star Trek branding. This fully interactive world created is next-gen stuff not just in terms of VR capabilities but in terms of the co-op capabilities as well. Who doesn’t want to manage their own Enterprise ship and go on space adventures with their friends. Just as long as I’m captain.

For Honor

You play as a Viking. It doesn’t get cooler than that. But if you take a look at the gameplay walkthrough it is very reminiscent of those hack and slash action fighting games. Of course it’s 2016 so it isn’t as easy as button mashing your way through droves of enemies exactly, but this game provides a very interesting set up for a classic gaming style.

Grow Up

The title itself sets you up for exactly what this game is all about. It is a quirky and charming nostalgia bomb. Simple shapes, vibrant colors and whimsical gaming mechanics make this game a treat for the long time gamers. In the stress of MMO’s, FPS’s, and achievement based gaming, this game looks to be a creative departure from that. Players  will be able to just sit back and enjoy this one. Hopefully it is successful in reminding many hardened gamers why they began playing games in the first place.

Steep

Steep looks like it is primed to be the most realistic extreme sports game we’ve seen. It is innovative and mechanics of the game looks to be intricate and extensive with the ability to retrace every step and see just what affects your ability to perform in the game. Seven minutes of gameplay footage and I was ready to hop on a snowboard and hit the mountains myself. It could certainly revive a dying extreme sports genre of gaming.

Watch Dogs 2 Revealed!

E3 2016 is less than 4 days away and we are already being shown glimpses of what’s to come on the show floor this year.

With that being said, Ubisoft has revealed yesterday Watch Dogs 2.

A sequel to 2014’s game, here are the details we have and what we know so far:

  • Heading to the west, game is set in San Francisco, CA.
  • Players take control of a brand new hero and hacker, Marcus Holloway. Wrongly accused for a crime he didn’t commit, Marcus will perform risky yet rebellious risks to prove his innocence.
  • The Watch Dog series is all about the hacking. Unlike the first game, everything and everyone can be hacked into.
  • Not all your gameplay will focus on the main story. For side missions or any other activities you do in the open world, they will affect and improve your progress.

Tune in to Ubisoft’s Press Conference this Monday, June 13th at 1 PM PDT/4 PM EDT for more features and gameplay.

Watch Dogs 2 hits stores on November 15, 2016.

2015-06-15152539jpg-b577f9_765wAmongst all the news about Ubisoft’s big names like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, there was a title that made its debut by the name of Anno 2205. Not much is know about the title, but there was a trailer shown at the press conference. While it is minimal, it does look promising.

Ubisoft Announces Ghost Recon Wildlands at E3

GRW_KEY_VISUAL_Panorama_Large_Logo

During Ubisoft’s press conference at E3 Ghost Recon was reintroduced to the audience in a new open-world co-op shooter called Ghost Recon Wildlands. A trailer for the game was released and can be seen below.

It seems as though the game will involve taking down world drug operations with the references to South American governments and cocaine being a theme in the trailer. The game looks to go all over the world which looks to be an innovative approach all together. No word on a release date yet, but we’ll be paying attention to any news concerning the new project.

Rainbow Six Seige Brings in Big Name for its Return at E3

rainbow-six-siege

Rainbow Six Seige made its debut at last years E3. This year it came back with more footage and a very special guest to boot. The return of the fan-favorite Terrorist Hunt mode is one of the biggest things this year. The Ubisoft Montreal development team wants you to “never have the same experience twice” so it is safe to say that this time around things may be a bit different, but still awesome all the same.

And now the special guest. Angela Basset will star in the upcoming Rainbow Six game as “Six,” the codename for the leader of the elite counter-terrorism group. The clip shows off the first look at Basset in her role as Six.

Rainbow Six Seige will release its Beta on all platforms on September 24 of this year and will officially release on October 13 of this year as well. Xbox One owners who purchase the game will receive free copies of Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for Xbox One owners.

This month is E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Today

o2PjMsbHu0Tx.878x0.Z-Z96KYq

I think it is safe to say that many weren’t exactly holding their breath for the reveal of the new installment into the Assassin’s Creed (AC) franchise. Still, fans of the franchise hope for a revival of sorts and with that their hopes lie with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Reports came out last week that the reveal would come this week, andUbisoft did not disappoint. So lets take a look at some of the things to expect this time around.

To start off, this version will be set in Victorian London in 1868. The development team decided to focus their efforts in broadening the horizons of the environment which sees a 30% increase in the map itself in comparison to Unity. The Burroughs of the map will include the following locations: Westminster, the Strand, the City of London, Whitechapel, Southwark, and Lambeth. The Thames however will be an entry and exit point for the Empire.

Now on to main characters, which will be a role shared by twins Jacob and Evie Frye. As you should expect, both protagonist will be playable and interchangeable throughout the story (the game is single player this time around), but for the sake of the narrative of the story will restrict character choices at times. We will also see some clear differences in both characters. The only real descriptions at this point is that Jacob is the more rebellious and brazen of the two. Evie on the other hand, is seen as the more fluid “assassin style” character with her stealth movements as her main assets. With this info, it’s clear that players will be better served utilizing Jacob’s character for the hand-to-hand aspects of the game, while using Evie for stealth and recon.

The story will see the twins moving to the City from Crawley as the industrial revolution is hitting its peak. Their objective is to free the poverty-stricken community and lead a revolt against the oppressive establishment concealing the Templars. As tough as this journey may seem, you can always be sure that you will not be alone. Seminal historical figures such as Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin will be amongst your greatest allies.

There’s still more info to be released but even with that, I’m sure there will be some that are hesitant to try another AC game. Still, it seems as though Ubisoft is making a concerted effort to repair the reputation the franchise once had. Doesn’t hurt that the announcement included a debut trailer that you can look at below.

Look out for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate when it comes to Xbox One and Playstation 4 on October 23, 2015. PC will see a later autumn release date (does it really matter though).
