To kick things off, Frank Zampella of Respawn Entertainment took to the stage to reveal more information on Titanfall 2. The critically acclaimed series will be branching out to not just the XBOX One and PC, but the Playstation 4 as well. A single player campaign will be included this time since the first Titanfall only focused on multiplayer. Expect this game to hit shelves on October 28th, 2016.

EA Sports is highly praised for their Madden and FIFA series. With E-Sports receiving critical acclaim, it’s not only about the first person shooters and MOBAs (Massive Online Battle Arenas), but sport video games as well. That’s why EA is having their own Sports League, having events and competitions from their wide array of sports games. With that being said, EA also announced that a total of $1 million will be in prize money.

For the first time, both FIFA 17 and Madden 17 will be engineered in EA’s Frostbite 3 Engine. For FIFA fans out there, for the first time you will have a single player story mode called The Journey, which follows rising soccer star Alex Hunter. FIFA 17 releases for Playstation 4, XBOX One, PC, Playstation 3, and XBOX 360 on September 27th, 2016.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is looking promising as the conference showed off a behind the scenes video of Bioware working hard on the game. Running on the Frostbite 3 engine, the premise of Andromeda has you exploring the Andromeda galaxy, making new findings such as planets and species. More information will be revealed this coming Fall.

Since the release of Unravel, EA has announced their EA Originals program, focused on independent games and development. Their next game Fe, features an open world game dedicated to nature. You make the choices on how you want to start and go throughout your adventure.

When it comes to Star Wars, EA is keeping us busy either with Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes . With new and updated content on the way, there are also more Star Wars games inbound. EA released this behind the scenes video of their studios working on upcoming Star Wars games. We can’t wait what more they have to offer us.

Last and certainly not least is DICE’s Battlefield 1. Setting place in World War I, this shooter features huge battles having 64 players placed against each other using different weapons, vehicles, and tactics. Battlefield 1 hits XBOX One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 21st, 2016.

Fighter Squadron, Star Wars Battlefront’s New Mode Revealed!

A-Wings vs Tie FightersIt’s been awhile since we had a true and authentic flight simulator Star Wars game but at this past GamesCom 2015 in Germany last week, Electronic Arts revealed a new mode for Star Wars Battlefront called Fighter Squadron.

You remember the Rogue Squadron series? For those who don’t, the series lets you take the mantle of infamous ships such as the T-65 X-Wing to the X1 Tie Advanced. You fly these ships as you complete objectives against the Empire or Rebel Alliance, and compete in dogfights in space or various planets.

For Fighter Squadron mode, DICE is bringing that same feeling back from the past Rogue Squadron games but with up to 20 in a lobby for intense ship to ship battles. During matches, power-ups and upgrades come into play to give you advanced proton torpedoes or giving you the ability to pilot the Millennium Falcon!

Star Wars: Battlefront hits Playstation 4, XBOX One, and PC on November 17th, 2015.

Five Minutes of Star Wars: Battlefront Gives Us Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader

37729-star-wars-battlefront-video-del-gameplay-e3-2015_jpg_1280x720_crop_upscale_q85The first real look at Star Wars: Battlefront gave us everything we were waiting for. Before the five minutes of footage here, LucasArts gave us seven minutes of great gameplay during the Star Wars Celebration a while back. This time around, the gameplay footage gives us a better understanding of how the game looks in both third and first-person.

Check out the actual footage below.

At this years E3, EA gave us a very old feel when they started the footage off on Hoth in the middle of a huge battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Imperial Soldiers. Rockets and rifle fire fill the air as the Alliance defend the hangar against the Imperial Soldiers while trying to defend and activate control points.
star-wars-battlefront-trailer-gameplay-playstation-4-e3-2015The Empire’s AT-AT are automated in terms of their ability to move and navigate, but still can deal major damage. The airstrikes come in from the Imperial Soldiers, but the Rebel Alliance find a way to defend against it using a bubble shield.

The game switches to none other than Luke Skywalker as you now can play as a Jedi. Familiar jedi moves such as force push and force dash are used to take down several enemies at once… and yes you do get to use the lightsaber. It’s all fun and games until Darth Vader enters the battlefield and as soon as Luke and Vader clash, the footage is over.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

EA Releases Star Wars: Battlefront Reveal Trailer

jpg

Well, it’s the second day that Disney and LucasArts have put out something really cool for fans to enjoy. Today it was the much-anticipated reveal trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront. Overall, it seems as though this may be the most faithful iteration of the game with regards to the Star Wars franchise and the trailer looks to drive that home. Take a look at it below.

Looks like the developers over at DICE spared no expense when it came to the production of the game. Such a long-awaited game should be met with positive reactions if the trailer is any indication of the game’s actual quality. Oh, and did I mention that in addition to the trailer the release date has been leaked! Expect to be able to get your hands on Star Wars: Battlefront for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17, 2015.

Full-Length Trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

starwarsepisode_3098520b

All those Star Wars fans (like myself), are excited to finally see the second trailer (and the first full-length one) for the much-anticipated film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There’s a little bit of old, and a little bit of new in the trailer (no spoilers). This one has quite a bit more action and drama in it for what it’s worth. But don’t just take my word for it, check it out below.

See, it’s some pretty good stuff. Really good look at some of the main characters that’ll be featured. We’ll expect to see much better performances all around when Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.

Xbox One Gets Star Wars: Battlefront First

star-wars-battlefront

Apparently Aaron Greenberg (who leads Microsoft’s games marketing division) is not shy about giving news to loyal fans because he revealed to a fan that the first person shooter would come out on Xbox One via the EA Access pass before coming to Playstation 4 and PC.

This isn’t a surprise as the agreement between Microsoft and EA for EA Access allows them to release its most popular titles early to subscribers. The deal was offered to Sony as well, but they declined the offer (I wonder why).

The rewards of the membership are very intriguing. FIFA 15 for example, was available to subscribers to try a week in advance for several hours. While that doesn’t seem like a long time, players were able to keep any saved data and transport it over to the official title should they choose to actually purchase it. They could possibly do the same for Battlefront. Those who pay the 5 dollar monthly subscription also gain access to a collection of free games like Battlefield 4 and Need for Speed Rivals and have unlimited access to these titles for however long they decide to keep their membership.

Despite LucasArts Entertainment being acquired by Disney back in 2012, work for the game began in 2013 to the delight of many fans who thought the game would never see the light of day. Regarding the release date, there is nothing of note. It isn’t a lot, but the first trailer is only three days away and when it drops you’ll be able to see it here.

Star Wars Episode VIII Director Revealed; Details on Stand-Alone Film

wdiqe7iqkcrwxxulazchWith J.J. Abrams taking care of the first of film in the upcoming Star Wars trilogy it stood to reason that fans were more than willing to give it a chance. There was also just as much intrigue from fans to find out who would take over after Abrams leaves. Well, it looks like that role will be handed to Rian Johnson (at least for the next film). This is a pretty stunning choice for a director and writer as his work includes films like Looper and Brick. To go along with his work in film, he also has a tremendous track record in television with his work on AMC’s Breaking Bad. Specifically, his work on the episode “Ozymandias” is heralded by many (including Vince Gilligan himself) to images (5)be some of the best work the series has seen. The film is set to release on May 17, 2017.

The news didn’t end there as the first of many Star Wars stand-alone films will be titled Rogue One. The film will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and written by Academy Award nominee Chris Weitz (Cinderella, About A Boy). The first of actors to be signed on to the project will be another Academy Award nominee in Felicity Jones who dazzled in her role as Jane Hawking in the movie The Theory of Everything. This film will be released on December 16, 2016; which means we’ll get two Star Wars films in a span of about five months. As a huge Star Wars fan, that makes me very happy and I should hope that I am not alone.
