Ghost of Tsushima Movie Inbound!

Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima has been making history. With breaking sales records as selling 2.4 million copies the first three days (becoming Playstation 4’s fastest selling game), winning both Best Art Direction and Viewer’s Choice awards in The Game Awards, and having Sucker Punch become the ambassadors for the actual island of Tsushima, the list of achievements is endless.

Ghost of Tsushima is also Teh Lunchbox Publication’s Game of the Year and Best Multiplayer for its Legends add on, earning a perfect 5 out of 5 from us. So what’s next for the series? Hollywood.

It’s been reported that Sucker Punch is taking their beloved title to the big screen, teaming up with Sony Pictures. The director on helm with this project is none other than Chad Stahelski, whose credits include the John Wick movies, need we say more?

For the official announcement, check out Playstation’s post here.

Ghost of Tsushima is Rated M for Mature and available now for the Playstation 4.

Rumor: PlayStation 5 Pro Inbound?

It is almost a month since the release of the PlayStation 5. Some players have successfully obtained one on release day, but others are either having a hard time getting to a store at the right time or are facing the terrors of bots and scalpers online.

However, there are reports inbound of a PlayStation 5 Pro. Mentioned by T3, there appears to be a Patent from Sony for the console to perform with two GPUS.

If this is the case, it could it be recommended for those who haven’t purchased the PlayStation 5 yet to aim towards the Pro upgrade itself?

Only time will tell.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer & Poster Is Here!

Early on yesterday, a trailer for the next entry in Marvel’s Spider-Man run has dropped.  Supposedly taking place after Avengers Infinity War, we see Peter Parker (played by actor Tom Holland) handling his new role as Spider-Man, having the support of Aunt May (Actress Marisa Tomei), and getting ready to go on a school trip to Europe.

Everything seems very upbeat and life is going great until a dart flies from the darkness, Ned’s body hits the floor, and Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) appears to let us know this is still a super hero movie. A tone shift in the trailer takes us into the apparent main plot, having Fury recruiting Peter to help with some strange occurrences happening across Europe.

This trailer was brilliant, having the layer showing the progress of Peter’s life, to the transition of being Spider-Man overseas, and then right when you think the trailer is going to end with the release date? We get the silver screen debut of Mysterio (played by actor Jake Gyllenhaal), one of Spidey’s more well known villains.

From the nod to Steve Ditko’s black and red Spidey design (which may also be a slight nod to assassin Spider-Man), to the enemies that seem to be popping up for this film, there seems to be a lot to love and it is only the trailer.

Returning actors and actresses joining Holland, Tomei, Jackson, and Gyllenhaal are Zendaya, Combie Smulders, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Martin Starr, and Michael Keaton.

The Last Guardian Delayed

No surprise there.

the-last-guardian

Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s World Widestudios for Computer Entertainment Inc., took to the Playstation Blog to update the progress for The Last Guardian. Here’s what Yoshida had to say:

The Last Guardian development team is fast approaching major milestones in production and has made the tough decision to delay the release of The Last Guardian a few weeks. The Last Guardian will launch on December 6, 2016.“.

With the amount of games coming out between now and December 6, we can all agree to the fact that we will be busy with another title until then.

The Last Guardian hits the Playstation 4 on December 6,2016.

Recapping Sony’s E3

sony-playstation-experience-e3-2016-live-theaters-june-13.jpg.optimal

Sony hit the ground running at E3 with displays of new games, new installments in current series, as well as a couple of big nostalgia bombs. Lets see what Sony had to offer this year.

God of War

Is there a way for something to be the same and yet totally be different in just about every way? Cause that is the way God of War is feeling now. Still, it looks to be great even if a little different, and you always gotta give it a shot. I mean would you tell a grizzled Kratos no?

Days Gone

Ready for another post apocalyptic open world game? What if I told you got to play as a bounty hunter? Days Gone sets itself up two years after a global pandemic devastates the human population. Now, as Deacon St John, your only job is to survive.

The Last Guardian

Take a Myazaki film, make it dark and turn it into a game. That’s essentially The Last Guardian. And I can’t wait. Seven years in the making and it returned in glorious and unexpected fashion at last year’s E3. Fortunately this should be the last time that we are teased with the project as its official release date is October 25th of this year. The wait is finally over.

Detroit Becomes Human

Now I love decision based games. Every decision is meaningful and even the seemingly safe move can still devolve a situation into chaos. Detroit Becomes Human is just that. Only you aren’t a human. Artificial intelligence runs the city, but what happens when the lines between right and wrong are blurred? Do the ends still justify the means to them?

Resident Evil 7

For decades Resident Evil has been scaring the hell outta players but they got away from that some time ago. This time around it feels like there’s gonna be a lot of spooked gamers out there should they choose to pick up this game. And that’s the way it should be. Exclusive looks at this game make it seem as though it could be a classic in the horror genre for video games.

Farpoint

Wanna experience space battles with giant hostile aliens? Take the VR software and pick up Farpoint. It may be your typical outer space FPS but with the VR experience it looks to be one of the first of its kind and fans are gonna wanna have fun with this one.

Battlefront VR Xwing Mission

Speaking of VR experiences in space, everyone who’s a Star Wars fan wants to fly an Xwing fighter. And with the new VR hardware fans will soon be able to live out their dreams through Battlefront VR Xwing Mission. Whether it’s actually good or not will be left for another discussion. Right now, I just wanna fly an Xwing.

Batman Arkham VR

It’s Batman. You get to be Batman. That is all you need to know to want this game.

Final Fantasy VR Experience

Experience Final Fantasy XV in the virtual world with Final Fantasy VR Experience. It’s been a bit but we’ll finally get a new FF game and if the new gameplay style is why the wait is so long, then hopefully the VR experience makes the change a far more welcome one.

Crash Bandicoot Remastered

crash-bandicoot

Not a whole lot to say. But the announcement was more than enough for everyone. Just happy to see Crash back where he belongs.

Death Stranding

Not really much to say as it’s just Norman Reedus naked on a seemingly uninhabited island (which we all can figure is not actually true). I think everyone will be interested to see where this one goes.

Spider-Man

Not exactly a fan of the suit but I am a fan of seeing Spider-Man back. So many games based on comic book heroes have been unsuccessful for one reason or another. Outside of the Arkham games no other hero has a better track record in the realm of video games than Spider-Man. I look for this one to maintain the same quality as the games before it.

No More Playstation Store Support For PSP

If you are one of many people who are still rocking Sony’s handheld, the Playstation Portable (PSP), mad props and respect to you.

However, it’s probably time for an upgrade.

Sony announced yesterday that on March 31st, it will shut down it’s Playstation Store services for the PSP. Here’s the official press release from Sony’s support website.

On March 31, 2016, the PlayStation®Store for PlayStation®Portable (PSP®) system in the SCEA region will be closed. PSP system users will be able to purchase PSP content from the web-based PlayStation Store at store.playstation.com, and also access past purchases from the Download list on their PSP system. Users will continue to have the ability to make in-game purchases from their PSP system.

Select PSP games are also available for purchase on the PlayStation®Store for PlayStation®Vita system users.

Hopefully all PSP titles will be available for the Vita? Only time will tell.

Sony Ends Press Conference With Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Sony had a time of it during their press conference and really made the most of it when they unveiled extended footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in all its glory.

The seven minute demo saw Nathan and Sully team back up as they almost immediately start off in a firefight of sorts within a confines of a South American street market. As Nathan and Sully make their escape in a jeep they are instantly pursued by a riot van decked out with a turret and have to find a way to shake them. Driving through streets and on top of buildings the pair finally shake the van… or so they thought. The final part of the demo saw the duo speeding down the streets to a seaside with the enemy riot van following close behind. It all ends with Nathan being launching himself out of the jeep and onto the docks as he’s swinging from a rope he latched to a moving vehicle.

The trailer was intense as we even saw some new moves from Nathan use a flying punch to immobilize an enemy while catching their gun in the same movement. Those who can’t wait for the release can hold themselves over with and updated version of the previous Uncharted games in the Nathan Drake Collection, which will be available this October.

Guerilla Games Debuts Horizon: Zero Dawn

2015-06-1518-20-08jpg-bfd57d_765w

Don’t know if Guerilla Games is taking a break from Killzone but if they are, they used that time away to make a new title called Horizon: Zero Dawn. The game made its debut moments ago during Sony’s E3 press conference and it looks really interesting.

The trailer involves a female warrior exploring what looks like an ancient cave and its paintings while a narrator explains the evolution of technology along with the rise of civilization and the fall of the future through nature and its attempt to reclaim humanity’s creations. Through tribes man survived through hunting tactics and combining brand new technologies with ancient designs.

At one point, it looks as though some foe finds the female warrior hiding in the grass and a chase ensues. She takes the dinosaur-like creature out with a knife, and apologizes. Her rest is short as the scuffle startled a herd of robotic deer and out comes a mechanized T-Rex. Unable to escape she engages the T-Rex in combat she uses her bow amongst other things to take him down. No rest for the weary as not long after a mechanized pterodactyl swoops in screeching at the heroine before the trailer ends.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like it (which is a first), but maybe Sony is on to something. It is a beautiful game and one that should entice many when Horizon: Zero Dawn makes its way to the Playstation 4.
