Sony Ends Press Conference With Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Sony had a time of it during their press conference and really made the most of it when they unveiled extended footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in all its glory.

The seven minute demo saw Nathan and Sully team back up as they almost immediately start off in a firefight of sorts within a confines of a South American street market. As Nathan and Sully make their escape in a jeep they are instantly pursued by a riot van decked out with a turret and have to find a way to shake them. Driving through streets and on top of buildings the pair finally shake the van… or so they thought. The final part of the demo saw the duo speeding down the streets to a seaside with the enemy riot van following close behind. It all ends with Nathan being launching himself out of the jeep and onto the docks as he’s swinging from a rope he latched to a moving vehicle.

The trailer was intense as we even saw some new moves from Nathan use a flying punch to immobilize an enemy while catching their gun in the same movement. Those who can’t wait for the release can hold themselves over with and updated version of the previous Uncharted games in the Nathan Drake Collection, which will be available this October.

Guerilla Games Debuts Horizon: Zero Dawn

Don’t know if Guerilla Games is taking a break from Killzone but if they are, they used that time away to make a new title called Horizon: Zero Dawn. The game made its debut moments ago during Sony’s E3 press conference and it looks really interesting.

The trailer involves a female warrior exploring what looks like an ancient cave and its paintings while a narrator explains the evolution of technology along with the rise of civilization and the fall of the future through nature and its attempt to reclaim humanity’s creations. Through tribes man survived through hunting tactics and combining brand new technologies with ancient designs.

At one point, it looks as though some foe finds the female warrior hiding in the grass and a chase ensues. She takes the dinosaur-like creature out with a knife, and apologizes. Her rest is short as the scuffle startled a herd of robotic deer and out comes a mechanized T-Rex. Unable to escape she engages the T-Rex in combat she uses her bow amongst other things to take him down. No rest for the weary as not long after a mechanized pterodactyl swoops in screeching at the heroine before the trailer ends.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like it (which is a first), but maybe Sony is on to something. It is a beautiful game and one that should entice many when Horizon: Zero Dawn makes its way to the Playstation 4.

Final Fantasy VII Remake: It was Bound to Happen

Sony and Square Enix held out for as long as possible, but the fans want what they want. Now the fans have a Final Fantasy VII HD remake to look forward to.

Before it was stated that Final Fantasy VII would come to Playstation 4, just not as an HD remake. It looks like those plans have changed. A small teaser was shown and you can see it below.

There is no news as to whether the HD remake will make it too other platforms.

The Last Guardian is Officially a PS4 Exclusive

Well we had a bit of a wait to see what was going to happen and now it is revealed that The Last Guardian is an exclusive title for Playstation 4. The trailer is below.

Sony’s E3 press conference saw many applause as the trailer for the game began and by all accounts, it was worth the wait. Team Ico’s been working on the game since 2007 and while it looked like it would never see the light of day, the development crew stuck it out and now fans and look forward to the title in all its newfound glory once it hits the PS4 platform in 2016.

Anno 2205 From Ubisoft Set to Release Later This Year

Amongst all the news about Ubisoft’s big names like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, there was a title that made its debut by the name of Anno 2205. Not much is know about the title, but there was a trailer shown at the press conference. While it is minimal, it does look promising.

Anno 2205 hits stores November 7, 2015.

Ubisoft Announces Ghost Recon Wildlands at E3

During Ubisoft’s press conference at E3 Ghost Recon was reintroduced to the audience in a new open-world co-op shooter called Ghost Recon Wildlands. A trailer for the game was released and can be seen below.

It seems as though the game will involve taking down world drug operations with the references to South American governments and cocaine being a theme in the trailer. The game looks to go all over the world which looks to be an innovative approach all together. No word on a release date yet, but we’ll be paying attention to any news concerning the new project.

Dark Souls 3 Gets an Official Announcement!

Well it looks like the leaks were true about Dark Souls 3 being at E3. During Microsoft’s press conference they confirmed that Early 2016 will see the final chapter in the Dark Souls series come to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The teaser began with travelers crossing a dark wasteland of sorts before the camera pans to a giant castle in the near background. Shifting to the inside of the castle is another person who’s face is not shown bowing before a crown. The teaser ends with a giant man with an equally giant clever.

2015-06-15100609jpg-a57563_765w Bandai Namco have another beautiful game on their hands and the previous games are any indication of the future, then fans will get a farewell of the highest quality.

All the Gears News From E3!

Lots of news here as we finally get confirmation on all fronts from The Coalition regarding all things Gears of War.

Lets start with the news that Gears of War is officially getting it’s remastering on Xbox One. Going under the name, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, the remastered version will indeed be formatted to 1080p resolution and run at 60 fps. The best part of this news is… the beta is available TODAY!

gears-4-ft-600x338 Now for the official gameplay reveal of what is being called Gears 4 (at the moment). This time around we see two entirely new characters in JD (shown above) and another female unnamed gear. It is night-time and they appear to be traversing through some sort of abandoned and broken down town. They only have their flashlights for to see with, but the danger is easily visible when a destructive storm hits and with nothing but a battered mansion available for shelter, they make their way through lightning strikes, falling debris, and a crumbling path into the mansion.

gears-4 Scoping out the mansion initially doesn’t prove fruitful as all that is seen are glowing cocoons. Things really get tense when the female gear gears_4_01 sees a figure flash across an open pathway. They pursue the figure until they reach a courtyard and the figure is revealed to be some sort of scorpion-like hybrid of another animal (right). We get to see the classic gnasher shotgun and lancer assault rifle in action as the gears fend off what turns into a pack of the monsters. There’s also a look at some new attack moves before the video ends with JD pinned down by on of the monsters.

The gameplay video was more than enough to excite the fans and with the beta for Gears of War Ultimate Edition, we should see a new revival of one of Microsoft’s most recognizable franchises. No official release date for Gears 4 yet, but it was revealed that the game will be targeting a 2016 Holiday timeframe.

Fallout 4 Anyone?

Bethesda Softworks press conference last night wasn’t going to be complete without their flagship franchise Fallout 4, and they didn’t forget that. The presentation went on last, but was far from least. Let’s jump right in shall we?

There wasn’t a whole lot they would share about the story. One thing they did though was start at the beginning before the actual apocalypse. You do get to customize your character extensively; all the way to the sex of the character (and all in front of a bathroom mirror). After you set up your character you get the Vault-Tec rep to let you know you’ve been pre-approved for a slot in Vault-111. You do have to answer some questions, which is really where you assign your skill points on the familiar S.P.E.C.I.A.L. interface. This is where they don’t give away the story as they skip about 200 years and emerge from your vault where your wife (or husband) and child are gone leaving you the only survivor. And now you can do whatever you want.

The Creation engine is what drives the inner workings of the game giving players a surreal experience. The environment looks just as vast and free as it has in the past and small things like switching between first and third-player is now a thing you can utilize throughout the game. Your k-9 companion is also introduced and he’s there to show you why they call him “man’s best friend”. You can command him to retrieve items, distract enemies, and such by using a simple point-and-shoot command prompt. You even get a look at VATS and some of what he can do, but it looks like they want to keep a bit of that secret. (can’t show em’ everything right?)

The classic Pip-Boy interface makes a glorious return with a better layout that allows for navigation. The game cartridges for it are now retrievable by finding them along your journey… and they work. In fact, the games resemble that of “classic” Donkey King and Missile Defense.

What might serve as the most important feature of the game is the comprehensive crafting system which allows you to utilize all that junk that is usually worthless and recycle them for raw resources (talk about one mans trash being another mans treasure huh?).

Now for the weapons which you’ll have about 50 base types of with 700 mods to choose from. You can also make and customize that all to familiar Power Armour at an absurd rate. But the weapons and the armour are just the tip of the iceberg. The big reveal was that now you can create houses, bases; really erect an entire moving communities and customize them to their finest details. Weaponry, using Brhamin caravans to move goods and resources, all of it is yours to do what you will.

There was a lot of care and attention that went into this project. Four years this game has been in the making. For those of you who don’t know, that is essentially the time between Fallout 3 and the upcoming title. Speaking of the upcoming title, you will get your hands on Fallout 4 sooner rather than later… November 10 of THIS YEAR to be exact.
