Well, we were bound to see it sometime. After countless weeks of constant leaks all across the internet, Activision has finally, properly, announced Platinum Games’ newest game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.

This game will feature the four rad brothers as they journey through the streets of New York City to take on Shredder and the Foot Clan from taking over the city, battling classic foes like Bebop, Rocksteady, and Armaggon along the way. Tom Waltz, writer of the current ongoing TMNT comics, will be writing an original story for the game. While engaging Platinum’s classic fast action style of gameplay, Mutants in Manhattan will also feature a 4-player online co-op mode, although details of the mode were not given out at the moment of this writing.

Update: trailer is now available for viewing. Check it out below

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan will be released for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC this Summer, presumably alongside the upcoming second movie.

Scalebound Delayed To 2017

It’s a new year, a new start, and yes, a new delay.

Scalebound

Platinum Games announced in a blog post this morning that their upcoming game, Scalebound, has been pushed back to 2017. While specifics were not given, Platinum claims that this was done “in order to deliver on our ambitious visions and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations.” There was no word on Platinum’s other current projects, Star Fox Zero on the Wii U and Nier: Automata on the PS4, but they’re both still assumed to release within 2016.

Look for Scalebound to release exclusively on the Xbox One sometime in 2017.

Platinum Ready to Unveil New Game at E3

plat-540x284

During IGN’s E3 2015 live show, there will be a new game making its debut courtesy of Platinum Games. In addition, they will be accompanying the reveal with extended gameplay from whatever it is they have to give the fans.

Platinum Games; the company that gave us some of the most entertaining and fast-paced games has a track record for creating some pretty fun and original titles. Some of those games include Viewtiful Joe, MadWorld, and Bayonetta; each with their own unique charm and feel all their own. Their most recent success includes Bayonetta 2; last years smash sequel to their 2009 project Bayonetta, which is highly regarded as one of the best games of 2014.

With their pension to conceptualize such crazy and vivid franchises, it shouldn’t be a surprise if this new project finds a way to set itself apart from the other titles under Platinum Games in the same way the company itself has done so in comparison to other developers over the years. Hit up IGN for more details and check out the new project from Platinum Games on  IGN at 3pm PT (6pm EST/10pm GMT) on Tuesday, June 16.
