This afternoon during Microsoft’s presentation at E3, Xbox Head Phil Spencer said something to the delight of many in the crowd and many more watching at home. Xbox One will finally see backwards compatibility.
Microsoft will have at least 100 titles available by this holiday and more on the way. Retail disks will also work with the Xbox One. To drive home the news, the announcement featured Mass Effect running on the Xbox One.
Digital downloads will start showing up automatically in your game library, however you will need to download the game when using your Xbox 360 disks. Developers and publishers still have to approve what titles work with backwards compatibility.
Xbox One backward compatibility is available now for preview members and will be available for everyone this holiday.
