Retro Studios is usually tight-lipped about anything theyre working on, so it came as a big surprise when they sent out a small hint that they may have some plans for the big Nintendo conference at E3 next week.
As many know, Retro Studios is most notable for bringing back the Metroid series back to Nintendo starting with Metroid Prime. The studio and Nintendo saw much success with the franchises rebirth all the way through Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Trying their hand at a revival of Donkey Kong franchise, their first project Donkey Kong Country Returns was another success to the delight of many. The sequel Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze however, saw mixed results.
Nothing else has been heard from Retro Studios since then, but now is as good a time as any to excite the fanbase with E3 on the way. One can only hope that they aren’t pulling one over and have something fresh for Nintendo fans to really get into.
