Live adaptations of… well… anything seems to be all the rage and Disney does more of them than anyone. That’s why It’s no surprise that they’re willing to do it again, and this time around it’s with one of their more beloved animated films in Mulan. There was actually a Chinese live-action film for Mulan in 2009 as well as an appearance by the character on the ABC’s Once Upon A Time, however it’s more than apparent that this will be the biggest project since the 1998 animated film. Chris Spencer and J.C. Spink (We’re the Millers) are set to produce the film
Now, this isn’t the only one on their slate as there are plans for live-action adaptations for Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and a sequel to Alice in Wonderland (say what you want, but it raked in the money). Between the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the aforementioned projects, Disney is certainly busy with their live-action movies. Take it for what it is, but I know I’ll be giving these a chance.
