It’s time soldier. Time to go home.

It’s official guys! Everyone’s favorite wall-crawler is coming home!

Marvel and Sony have announced a partnership that will finally bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). While talks are still ongoing, the deal calls for “the new Spider-Man” (this is how the press release describes him) to first appear in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film. It is not made clear though which movie he will appear in and what role he will play. Spider-Man will star in his own new film which is set to open on July 28th, 2017. This new film will be produced by Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal (who just stepped down as co-chairman of Sony). Unfortunately, it is being reported by Deadline that producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are stated to stay on as executive producers (can’t have everything now can we).

This is surely a shake up for the foreseeable future over at Marvel studios and many prayers from many fans have been answered. It’s an exciting time and with creative constantly coming up with new and fresh ideas for the MCU there is sure to be something very special in the works for the web-slinging hero.
